Rattray's Beltane's Fire Sandblast Red Pipe
During the Celtic Beltane festival the end of winter, a time full of deprivation, is celebrated. In the night of the 30th of April the ghosts of winter are banished and the god of light Bel is embraced during a fire ceremony. In Edinburgh, in front of the spectacular scenery of the Acropolis on Calton Hill, a new production of this old festival is celebrated. Almost 10000 spectators watch actors dance to beautiful rhythms between the fires. This is one of the most beautiful events in Edinburgh.
This bulbous shape was rediscovered in an old cupboard. The shape probably originated around 1930. The compact design, the thick stem and bowl are perfectly balanced. Each pipe comes with three mouthpieces in different colours: Black as the night, red as fire an yellow as the sun. Inspired by Beltane's Fire.
