Cuban Independence Day - Thursday 10th October 6:30pm

We have a classic Cuban pairing instore for guests on Thursday 10th October as we host a sampling evening to celebrate Cuba’s Independence Day. We will be pairing the classic H.Upmann No.2 (6 1/8’’ x 52) with Eminente Rum. 

Our Master of Habanos Nic Barker says about the H.Upmann No.2: “A great alternative to the beloved Montecristo No.2, for the smoker who favours something on the milder side. Fresh tannin, and salted cedar are mainly notable to begin with until the first ash drops. The cigar becomes a little earthier, with the vaguest hint of spice making itself known the further you work your way into the smoke. Deliciously flavourful, and with a cool, long finish. Great cigar.” It’s a cigar that had a little hiatus with not many arriving during 2022/23, but now they’re back we are delighted to sample this piramide.

We last sampled Eminente 2 years ago shortly after it being a new arrival into the industry, but since then they’ve added a third rum to their portfolio, Gran Reserve 10 year. The mild strength, but bold flavour makes for a perfect pairing with the flavour of Eminiente, particularly the 10 year. We will make a traditional Cuban cocktail of Canchanchara as the opening drink with the Eminente Ambar Claro, while also tasting their 7 year with the Gran Reserva 10.
